Hand sewn appliques are made with metal cords sewn into basket or vase shapes.. There are silk and metal thread ombre ribbon work flowers and leaves with gold bead centers. These were popular for embellishment for the boudoir. Measurements of the basket are 4 by 4 inches, and the vase is 3.5 by 5.5 inches.
Each applique is new old stock. Circa 1920's 30's.
