Garland of roses, rose buds, flowers and leaves are embroidered with silk thread on a fine cotton. There are shaded details in the roses and foliage, with padded satin stitch details throughout. Remarkably beautiful design, likely from a French fashion house from the early 20th century. Applique has survived in perfect condition with no flaws. This is a large applique measuring about 12.5 by 6.5 inches. The last picture shows the back and the fine quality of the embroidery.
