Antique French passementerie trim was hand woven in one of the fine French passementerie factories circa 1860/1890. Found at a sale in a French Chateau. Passementerie trim is woven with ombré strands of silk chenille. Silk and silver wire wrapped cords meander back and forth through the silk weft of to form the interlocking patterns. Trim is 1 & 1/4th inch in width and has acquired the beautiful softly faded patina of ashes of roses.
Still sturdy and strong. Sold by the yard while quantities last.
