Cocoon style coat is embroidered by hand with gold metallic and bronze sequins and beads in undulating floral motifs of peacock blue and iridescent pallets accented with luminescent burgundy and blue glass beads. Embroidery is executed with gold threads on rare gold metal napped fabric that has the appearance of shimmering gold metal velvet. There are exotic birds scattered among the large vibrant floral motifs inspired by the orient. Coat is lined in blue silk velvet and is a clutch style with no closures. There is one inside pocket as shown in the pictures. Label reads: "Dreher Chicago" but likely made in France in the early 1920's as were most coats of this quality. Coat measures 20 inches from shoulder pleat to pleat at back of shoulders and measures about a 17 & 1/2 inch sleeve length from the shoulder pleats. Coat measures about 41 inches from shoulder to hem and about 76 inches in circumference. Condition. Embroidery is intact and velvet nap has little to no sign of wear. In remarkably excellent antique condition.
