Very fine silk crochet lace is hand made with 3 ply grey silk thread and iridescent blue/green glass beads. There are lacy silk and beaded picot scalloped heading, silk covered metal squares with bullion stitch embellishments, beaded borders, and tiny handmade taupe silk tassels and strands of beads along the length. Design is repeated every two inches with 9 tiny tassels in each repeat.
A magnificent find, likely dating from the late 19th century.
Beautifully made with very small stitches.
Trim is about 5.5 inches in width and 3 yards 22 inches in length.
I found a scant 6 or so loose stitches along the entire length.
Excellent antique condition.
