Antique hand made filet lace, also known as Lacis, is a needle lace created by darning on a ground of knotted net or netting. This length has been re-embroidered with fine buttonhole roundels and padded petal details. Lace is 2 inches wide with 11 flowers per yard. This is a 2 yard 31 inch length. This lace was likely made by in a Convent/Missionary School for the export/tourist trade in the 1920's. Lace has a gently scalloped edge as shown in the pictures. Excellent condition with lovely scattered darker patina.
