Antique silk dove appliques are embroidered with couched silk and gold metal cords onto fine purple velveteen fabric. These are liturgical pieces that have been cut from a larger textile and measure an uneven 14 by 18 inches each. There is a right and left facing pair. These silk dove appliques are backed with muslin. Stitching and velvet are in excellent condition. There are allover faint splits in the ivory silk which add to their antique charm.
