Hand made filet lace, also known as Lacis, is a needle lace created by darning on a ground of knotted net or netting. This length has been re-embroidered with fine buttonhole roundels and padded petal details. Lace is 2 and 1/4 of an inch wide with between 12 and 13 flowers per yard. This is a six yard 25 inch length on the original card which reads "Hand Made Lace/Made in China" This lace was likely made by in a Convent/Missionary School for the export/tourist trade in the 1920's. Excellent condition.
