Antique French passementerie trim was hand woven in one of the fine French passementerie factories circa 1870/1890. Found in the sale at a French Chateau. Passementerie trim is woven with ombré strands of silk chenille, silk and silver wire wrapped cords. This trim is sewn to silk bullion fringe where there are hand sewn swirling silver wire bobbles every 2 inches with silk wrapped wire bobbles in between. Trim is 2 & 1/2th inch in length and has acquired the beautiful softly faded patina of Ashes of Roses.
Still strong with several bobbles that have become detached. Sold by the yard while quantities last.
