Vintage Passementerie

Circa 1880/1900 plum velvet purse
This wonderful purse looks as if it sat on a shelf for over 100 years. Purse has beautiful crome fittings which work perfectly, a front pocket and silk lining in mint condition, as is the silk plum velvet body of the purse. There is a 1&5/8th inch finely made silver metal casting portraying a salamander resting on some ivy. The leather purse sides have worn edges as expected and probably needs a carefull treatment by an expert. The leather handle is in excellent condition. Purse measures 6 1/2 by 7 inches.
